What Qasha is (and is not)

Qasha is a technology marketplace — hosts publish listings; guests browse, message, and request bookings. We are not the landlord or estate agent unless we say so in writing. Rental contracts, deposits arranged offline, evictions, and municipal compliance remain between hosts and guests.

POPIA & your privacy

• We process personal information under POPIA. See our Privacy Policy.
• Signup and listing flows include consent to Terms and Privacy.
• You may request access, correction, or deletion via the Information Officer.
• We use operators (hosting, email, media storage, payments) under appropriate arrangements.
• Complaints: Information Regulator (South Africa).

Consumer law (CPA)

• Listings must be accurate — no misleading rent, fees, or availability.
• Direct marketing (email/SMS campaigns) must follow CPA and POPIA; honour opt-outs.
• Optional paid badges are not a safety or property-condition guarantee.

Payments

Booking deposits: Arranged between host and guest in Messages — not collected on Qasha yet.

Featured listings & host verification: Paid checkout for these services will open once Ozow is connected.

• PCI-DSS: card data is handled by our payment partner, not stored on Qasha servers.
• Hosts with Pay on Qasha enabled must provide valid bank details for payouts.

Property sector

• Hosts are responsible for lawful rentals and accurate listings.
• Qasha does not replace legal advice on leases, PPCC/EAAB rules, or property practitioner licensing — confirm your model with a qualified attorney if unsure.
• Unlawful discrimination in listings or messages is prohibited.
